Reasons my mom thinks I should get hired

Direct from Amy DeFaveri:

My wonderful son, Matthew, is looking for a job to start in June 2010, after he graduates from Emerson College with a degree in Writing, Literature and Pubishing. He is an RA again this year and has been an RA since fall 2008.

Here are MY top 10 reasons why I think you need to hire my son:

1. He’s a mensch – he does things for people because he knows it’s the right thing to do…like opening doors for elderly people or giving up his seat on the metro for a female.
2. He has empathy – he actually gets the way other people are feeling.
3. He has a great story to tell – you’ll have to ask him about this for yourself.
4. He values my advice – what more can I say?
5. He’s a great listener – I only had to send him to his room once.
6. He has hands-on experience as an RA – he has loved his responsibilities as a resident assistant because he enjoys helping his peers and he’s great at it.
7. Because I said so – I’m used to saying that as Matt’s mother.
8. He’s both a strong leader and a valuable team member – One time while I was driving, I was petrified of the lightning storm and Matt was able to calm me down and lead me to safety. When he was five, he often helped clear the table after dinner.
9. He gets along with everybody – he has tons of friends and I know that because according to his cell phone bill, he sends and receives hundreds of texts every month.
10. He’s a good, sweet boy – you won’t find a nicer guy.

Thanks, mom.
